Infection Prevention & Control Conference Concludes its Activities

The International Infection Prevention & Control Conference -IPC 2017- concluded its activities, the conference was held in AL-AHSA on 6 and 7 December organized by Almoosa Specialist Hospital in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and KNOWLEX Company at the AL-AHSA Intercontinental Hotel with internationally recognized speakers and representatives of local and international health organizations, who gave More than 20 scientific lectures , eight workshops  were also conducted divided on the two days, in addition to a grand exhibition of more than 20 local and international companies interested in infection prevention & control.

The conference was inaugurated under the patronage of the Minister of Health represented by Dr. Hani Jokhdar, the Vice Minister of Health and Supervisor-General of Hospitals Affairs at the Ministry of Health (MOH), who praised the importance of such conferences, adding that infection control is part and parcel of the public health system in the Kingdom. HE thanked Almoosa Specialist Hospital for organizing this excellent conference expressing his amazement of the public attendance that exceeded all expectations, more than 800 attendees.

The conference  concluded with a number of recommendations, including Developing the skills of  infection control workers through promoting training and academic programs, improving infection control techniques in health facilities through using the latest technologies and smart applications to develop hand-washing monitoring programs for health workers, Sterilization and the optimal use of antibiotics , the necessity cooperation between the public and private sectors to address the risk of antimicrobial resistance through activating  antibiotic resistance programs in all health facilities while ensure following international protocols and scientific standards in ICU departments and other departments.
